Lara Di Virgilio

Lara Di Virgilio graduated from Kingston University in 2006 with a BA in Illustration and Animation. She specialised in traditional printmaking which gives her work an authority, originality and creativeness that are fast becoming rare traits in a world governed by computer-aided design.

Lara has experimented and created prints in most printmaking techniques and finds the Collagraph’s qualities work best to achieve the desired textures and atmosphere that express Lara’s view of the world. Her interest in people, animals, anthropomorphism, interior and exterior environments, colour and pattern have always inspired Lara’s artwork since she was a young girl. These interests continue to flow through her work today as she continues to enjoy working in mixed media and printmaking.

Lara’s unique style and attention to detail forces the audience to look twice and enjoy the work over and over again.

She is an active member of the Oxford Printmakers Cooperative, developing her artistic style and adding to her portfolio of Collagraphs prints.
